Horizons Optical marked its first participation at the Southeastern Congress of Optometry (SECO) this year, reinforcing its commitment to professional education and meaningful engagement with Eye Care Professionals (ECPs) across the United States.

As part of the event’s strong educational program, Kelly Rosemann, National Business Development Manager and ABO-recognized speaker, delivered a session focused on the Mimesys universe, exploring how advanced diagnostic insight, personalization, and immersive tools can help practices enhance patient outcomes while strengthening retail differentiation.

SECO, known for its education-driven programming from Thursday through Sunday, provided an ideal platform to connect with opticians and practice owners seeking practical knowledge and clinical advancement.

“What stood out most was the energy in the room,” said Kelly Rosemann. “Opticians were genuinely eager to learn and engage in meaningful discussion. We’re seeing a renewed commitment to education and professional growth, especially at regional shows like SECO, where teams are making a real effort to invest in their development.”

The strong attendance on opening day reflected a broader trend within the industry: ECPs are returning to regional conferences not only to show support for their professional community, but also to bring their staff and prioritize structured education.

“For us, events like SECO are an important opportunity to engage directly with the professionals who are shaping the future of independent optical,” said Albert Pogorschelske, Vice President of Horizons Optical of America. “Education plays a central role in helping practices understand how new technologies translate into real value — both for their patients and for their businesses. The level of engagement we saw confirms that ECPs are actively looking for practical solutions that help them differentiate.”

Horizons’ presence at SECO underscores its ongoing focus on empowering laboratories and their ECP partners through advanced lens design technology and education-driven differentiation. By combining innovation with practical implementation strategies, the company continues to expand its role as a trusted technology partner within the lab–ECP ecosystem.

With its first SECO participation successfully completed, Horizons Optical looks forward to strengthening its educational outreach and expanding its presence in key regional markets across the United States.
